| welcoming the first time entering students at University of Zululand after registration. |
Allow me to introduce myself. I know this has been long overdue. My name is Sinenhlanhla Maphisa. I am from Gingindlovu, North coast of Kwa Zulu Natal. I am a Public Relations level 3 student at University of Zululand. After graduation, I would like to further my studies and pursue a B.Tech Degree in Public Relations at Durban University of Technology or Tshwane University of Technology. My area of interests is corporate communications, I would like to become a communications manager one day. My goals for the upcoming semester is to gain the best practical experience. I have applied at Umhlathuze municipality and at Eshowe District hospital for in-service training in Public Relations department. Being a peer helper this year motivated me to start this blog, I have always wanted to be a peer helper because I love working with and helping other fellow students. Imagine if someone is going through life altering challenges that would drive one to fail dismally, to quit school or even worse, commit suicide and there was a way in which you could have helped that person, wouldn't you feel a sense of guilt? i would. I have always felt the need to be responsible, it is how i was brought up and maybe it is because I am older than most of my fellow students and being a mother makes you want to take care of everyone around you, yes i do have a three year old, beautiful daughter. So this blog is about I being a peer helper and of course I will talk about other topics too. I'm completing my Diploma in Public Relations Management studies at University of Zululand this year, I will not be a peer helper forever but i will continue with my blog for as long as i live.
